A weekly reason to move.

Most workplace wellness apps are quietly ignored. We built The Friday Vibe because we think we know why — and what works instead.

The problem with workplace wellness

Most companies buy a wellbeing app. Most employees never open it. Most HR teams can't prove it's worth the budget.

£1,200

Of HR leaders say their wellbeing programme isn't delivering value.

Wellbeing apps compete with TikTok for attention. They lose. Then HR gets blamed.

The insight

Nobody opens a wellness app for their health. They might open one to find out if they won.

Health apps ask people to change for their own good. The research is clear: intrinsic motivation to exercise is rare and hard to sustain. Outside a small minority, most of us need something else to get started.

Gambling, by contrast, is one of the most engaging mechanics ever invented. Lotteries hook millions of people into a weekly ritual they actually look forward to. The anticipation is the product.

The Friday Vibe takes the engagement mechanic of a lottery — the weekly draw, the live event, the chance of winning — and bolts it to something that's actually good for you: moving more. You earn tickets by walking, working out, and claiming missions. The more you move, the better your odds.

It's a lottery where everyone's a winner, because even if you don't win the cash, you've moved more than you would have.

That's the whole idea. Move. Earn tickets. Watch the draw. Repeat.

Who's behind it

A small team in the South West

Founded in Bristol · Building in public

The Friday Vibe is built by a small team who spent years working inside product, HR tech, and behavioural science teams. We've seen first-hand how much money gets poured into wellbeing benefits — and how little employees actually engage with them.

We started with one question: what if the reason to open a wellbeing app was something you genuinely looked forward to, not another thing you felt guilty for ignoring?

We're based in the South West of England, rolling out to a small cohort of local companies each month so we can get the product right before we scale. If you're in the South West, that means you can be part of shaping it.

Our mission
“Give every workplace in the UK a weekly reason to move — and make wellbeing benefits something employees actually look forward to.”
